Dr. Sara Stock, DDS is the founder of Smile Brookline and an airway-focused dentist in Brookline, Massachusetts. She has practised restorative and preventive dentistry since 1989 and opened this Beacon Street facility in 1998, where she now works alongside her associates.

Her practice is built around the connection between breathing, sleep and dental development. Patients come to her for snoring and sleep apnea, for children whose restless nights nobody has explained, for jaw pain and clenching, and for the everyday dentistry that holds it all together.

Dr. Stock treats the mouth as part of the airway and facial system rather than a set of isolated teeth. Restricted tongue mobility leads to mouth breathing, mouth breathing affects jaw development, underdeveloped jaws narrow the airway, and a narrow airway disrupts sleep. The same reasoning links nighttime grinding and jaw pain to breathing rather than treating them as stress habits.

In practice this means her care is tailored to concerns patients rarely associate with dentistry: exhaustion, trouble focusing, dark circles under the eyes, speech difficulties, teeth grinding and persistent cavities.
