Composite fillings combine glass or quartz with resin to form a tooth-colored material. These types of fillings are durable and resistant to fractures in small-to-mid size cavities. This conservative option requires less tooth preparation or removal compared to silver amalgam fillings. Over time, amalgam fillings can begin to corrode and leak mercury. For these reasons, we are an amalgam-free office and only place composite fillings. |

Crowns are a very versatile part of dentistry. They can be used to cover and provide support to a tooth with a large filling that has diminished the structure. A crown can also be used to protect a broken tooth or one that is weak and susceptible to breaking. Have a badly shaped tooth or one that is discolored? A crown may be the answer. If you have an implant, a crown will be used to create a new tooth to cover it. A crown can be made with either all-porcelain (ceramic) materials, gold or be porcelain-fused-to-metal. A majority of our crowns are made in-house with only high noble metals. The doctor will decide which is best for your specific dental needs. |

Using 3D Bluecam LED imaging and Computer Assisted Design, we are able to create customized, tooth-colored ceramic restorations in a single visit. The doctor prepares the damaged tooth, creates an optical impression and uses the CEREC technology to design and mill a precision restoration while you wait, and then in the same visit, it is permanently bonded to your tooth. With convenience and comfort, the result is an esthetic, natural-looking restoration that makes the tooth stronger than before. This latest technology allows us to offer a more conservative option in lieu of a full coverage crown.
